Outdoor advertising in Berlin
Berlin has a very full schedule. Berlin is a city of fairs for national and international gatherings. The "Grüne Woche" (Green Week) and the ITB (International Tourism Fair Trade) are over, but the next fair with thousands of visitors from many continents is already approaching: Berlin will host the IFA (Consumer Electronics Fair) this coming autumn.
The summer has major sporting events in store: The DFB finals at the end of May, held in the olympic stadium of Berlin, the Golden League ISTAF on June 1st 2009 and of course the athletics championships between the 15th and the 23rd of August. The last sporting event of the year will be the Berlin Marathon, which traditionally takes place in September.
Yet Berlin's schedule is also full of arts and cultural events. The "Bread and Butter", the "DMY Designer Festival", and the sand sculpture festival known as "Sandsation" - a 6-week long exhibition of sand art from all over the world in the central train station of Berlin (Hauptbahnhof) - are just a few examples.
