Just say thank you

Just say thank you

On a large number of billboards, friendly public service employees smile at us. They symbolize occupational groups such as the fire brigade, public order department, police and so on. The Berlin Senate hopes that the campaign will raise awareness of the achievements of these people, without whom it would be inconceivable to work together in the city. The campaign started with large areas at subway and S-Bahn stations. A few days later, passenger television in Berlin’s underground followed, introducing occupational groups every day and saying thank you for your personal commitment.

In mid-November, around 2,000 posters will be displayed on the advertising pillars in Berlin’s Straßenland and poster display cases at railway stations, thus intensifying this campaign. Then the time has come that one can rightly say: Outdoor advertising meets everyone. Of course, the meaning or the superfluousness is discussed contrary in the general public and in the media. And that’s a good thing, as the Berliner has been saying since 2001. If the campaign reaches a public discussion, then it has achieved its goal. When was the last time an advertising campaign was discussed?

New signs on lanterns

New signs on lanterns

The Berlin Senate has the right to re-tender and reassign advertising on light poles. New brooms now sweep back to the end of the year and bring us new formats, running times and terms of payment in addition to a different framework.

Prices for advertising signs on lampposts:
The prices remain unchanged in 2019. The non-illuminated pole sign costs € 996.00 per year and an illuminated sign € 1,740.00 per year. This is all net prices, VAT will be added. In the premium areas, a sign with lighting costs € 2,340.00 per year. However, Friedrichstrasse will be removed in the next few years because no advertising signs will be permitted on the two-armed lanterns. These signs will be removed at the beginning of 2019.

Contract periods for signs on light poles
The minimum booking time for unlit pole signs is 24 months. If you want to save production costs, you should opt for a three-year contract. The minimum term for illuminated signs is 36 months. The costs already include all ancillary costs such as the poster frame, approval costs, insurance, etc., so that the running times of 24 or 36 months are necessary to maintain the favourable tariff.

Motif Change
In the lantern – frame a Dibondplatte laminated with the advertising foil is hung up. This assembly principle makes a favorable motive change possible at a value of approximately € 120.00, and at any time and at short notice. You only send the printable PDF document and the production and assembly is done in a few days.

Discounts and conditions
The contracts always run on a calendar year basis. This is why we speak of annual rents, which have to be paid in advance in January. Quantity and time discounts on request.

How do you get advertising on lanterns?
Pole signs have an important function in your catchment area – they provide information about your location: 300 metres to the left.

Since not every light pole may be occupied with advertising, we look at your desired area and submit a proposal to you free of charge. From the locations you select the suitable lanterns and receive afterwards an individual offer. After your approval the approval procedure is initiated, which lasts between 4 and 6 weeks. During this time, the layouts can be created and the print data can be generated. Once the approval has been received, we go into production. After assembly you will receive your photos from us. And now we can only wish your advertising the best possible success.

BERLIN ADVERTISING MARKET

BERLIN ADVERTISING MARKET

In 2017, the Berlin Senate invited tenders for its advertising rights for the marketing of advertising pillars, City Light posters, advertising signs on lanterns and watch advertising. At the end of last year, the advertising experts and above all the “old” marketers looked forward to the decision phase with great excitement.

December 2017: The advertising rights are regulated and partly newly awarded. The Berliner Morgenpost reported in detail:

https://www.morgenpost.de/berlin/article213053433/Der-Werbemarkt-in-Berlin-wird-neu-aufgeteilt.html

The employees of Wall GmbH could breathe a sigh of relief, the marketing of the City Light Poster remains in Friedrichstraße. The advertising on lanterns went to the Mediateam Stadtservice and thus remained in Berlin. The advertising columns are taken over by the Stuttgart company Ilg. Everything done – lid on it? You might think, but the madness is just beginning. All previous advertising media must be dismantled after 31.12.2018 and rebuilt by the tender winners.

But what are the contractual deadlines for dismantling the pillars and pole signs? The regional advertising market is losing money for weeks and months because advertising contracts cannot be fulfilled. We will be able to talk about a reasonable period of time for lighting mast advertising. But what does the process flow look like for the pillars? WTM is assuming at least 6 months of downtime. The Senator for the Environment, Regine Günther, certainly thought of a percentage loss flat rate for all agencies, printers, adhesive companies and sales staff when she estimated her income calculation at around 440 million euros. Now all that is missing is a freshly printed application for those affected.

Donald Duck visits Berlin

Donald Duck visits Berlin

In October, Berlin’s Alexanderplatz was transformed into Entenhausen and a Gallic village. For one month, the paperback publisher presented its comic heroes on each large area (32 large areas in total).

The new issue “Asterix and Obelix in Italy” was advertised on 16 large areas with great pictures from the issue. Of course Idefix was not missing either. Under References you will find some pictures from the Poster Gallery.

50 years funny paperback with Donald Duck, the Panzerknacker Gang and Duckburg. Donald Duck is the trademark of the publishing house. With his sailor suit he taps from one puddle of bad luck to the next. Tick, trick and track – his three nephews – trickily pull him out of every dilemma because they have a “clever book” in which everything is written. Want to know more? Under References you will find some pictures from the Poster Gallery. 50 years of paperback were celebrated on 16 large surfaces.

Advertising for the local area

Advertising for the local area

The great example from Lisbon shows a successful advertising sign for his business. An advertising sign is placed on the bus stop and shows us the way to satisfy our appetite and hunger. A beautiful idea that also saves space. Especially in cities with narrow streets, advertising media that are built upwards can be real space wonders. It is a pity that we in Germany will wait in vain for the advertising space miracle.

ITB Berlin: a complete success

ITB Berlin: a complete success

The international tourism fair again was a huge success for the exhibitors. More than 90% of exhibitors are very happy with their acquired business contacts. And more than 80% expect a successful future business venture.

Botswana is investing in outdoor advertising to boost tourism demand. With their airport advertising in Berlin the African county addressed the business fair visitors and invited them to a meeting at their stand.

They utilised typical pictures of the county for popular travel destinations to create a desire for a vacation in Botswana.

Pure nature: In Botswana there are more elephants than people. Also lions, giraffes, wildebeests and so on. The campaign on busses brought you close to the Safari. With the airport line Botswana consciously decided to include the Berlin airport, main station, Brandenburg Gate, Unter den Linden and Alexanderplatz. All the defining spots in Berlin.
